Follow The Yellow Brick Road - Edale

For the latest training run I headed over to Edale in the Peak District. Having cycled through the area twice this year, I knew there were plenty of climbs to tackle and Owen gladly obliged in planning a route. I was joined again by Coach Daniele Trinca with Owen Barden leading the way.

We were treated to a glorious morning as we set-off out of Edale, running and scrambling up Kinder Scout. We ran the ridge with a quick drop down and back up Jacobs Ladder, before continuing onto Mam Tor, Back Tor and Lose Hill where the Sunday ramblers were out in force. 25km bagged and 988m of ascent and descent. Steadily increasing the distance, elevation and time on the feet.

We re-hydrated at The Old Nags Head back in Edale, Gammon, Egg and Chips the recovery meal of choice. Protein and sodium top up :)

Thanks again to Owen for route setting and Dani and Helen for making the effort to come and join us.

Keep and eye out on updates for the next outing!

Ps... It's my birthday on Wednesday. So how about a few ££££ for my chosen charities in the pot?

Cheers,

Paul
